February Wrap Up & Favourites | Things slowing down in the shortest month…but also my birthday!

february-favourites

February. The shortest month of the year. And the month filled with love? While Valentine’s day might not be a hit for everyone, it’s not just all about romance. There’s an overall sense of gratefulness come the occasion, an appreciation for friends and family too.

Though the month is only missing two or three days, those missing days can feel like they make all the difference. We don’t quite make it to day 30 before starting again. But still, the months roll on.

Let’s see what February brought…

Let’s Talk: Owning multiple copies of the same book – materialistic or helpful?

multiple-copies

We bookworms are collectors at heart. We spend years collecting stories, whether just to read and love or to fill our own bookshelves.

And yet when it comes to owning multiple copies of one book, people don’t seem to understand why some of us do it. Some people see it as materialistic. Or pointless. A waste of money.

So where do you stand on owning multiple copies of one book?

Throne of Glass TV show news : My conflicting thoughts turned into incoherent psychobabble

ToG TV.PNG

This literally happened just half an hour ago (as I’m typing, though this will be scheduled for the morning) and I need to type because I have so many conflicting thoughts and they’re overwhelming me.

It’s been announced the Throne of Glass will have a TV show. Not just optioned for one. THERE WILL BE ONE.

Before I go further, click here to see the article explaining, if you haven’t seen it already.

And thus, let my incoherent psychobabble of thoughts begin…

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child | A nostalgic SCRIPT book about a rather annoying child…and I loved it!

Cursed Child

How I survived to write this, I don’t know.

I loved the build up to this. Not so much the waiting, but the general feeling of hype from all Potterheads. We took over the world once again! Stay away, muggles.

While I didn’t go to a midnight launch party, I DID go and pick my preorder up on the day. As soon as I could. And they brought animals in! I held a snake, like the true Slytherin I am, but there was also an owl, tarantula, tortoises and toads πŸ˜€

Everything was incredible. It was such a magical day. And once I had my copy, had frolicked around with animals for a while, and had some dinner….I went right on home and devoured this book.

Let’s Talk:Cursed Child hopes, Fantastic Beasts movie and general wizarding wonders!

harry potter

This week’s discussion is taking on a particular theme…

Harry Potter!!!

Since we’re only a mere few days away from the release of the Cursed Child book (EEEEKKKKKK!) I thought it’d only be fitting for this week’s chat to be about all things Harry Potter.

I didn’t quite know WHAT to write about, since there’s so much of the wizarding world to explore, so I did a poll on twitter…

harry potter topics

…and it basically showed that we can’t miss ANYTHING here today. So this will be a good old ramble about everything Harry Potter related.

Be prepared.Β

I’ll warn you now: If you HAVEN’T read all the Harry Potter books, leave now. This will likely contain spoilers, and you probably won’t have a clue what’s going on with magic spells and wand properties etc etc.Β

And now…

This is probably my longest discussion yet, so get comfy and let’s talk, Potterheads!

Thank you all so so much for supporting my blog! It means so much to me!

I know I know I know that numbers aren’t the important thing, and that’s so true to me. But knowing there’s so many of you guys out there enjoying my blog is so encouraging for me πŸ˜€

Especially the people who comment on here, or talk to me on Twitter, or even go as far as sharing my posts on twitter! I can’t believe some of you actually take time out of your day to talk to little ol’ me πŸ˜† It honestly blows my mind, and I couldn’t appreciate it more ❀

At the beginning of the year I set a “goal” to reach 500 by the end of the year, just as something fun to hope for. I didn’t really think that was possible…but now it sort of does. Let’s see where this little blog of mine will be in another 6 months! Also, if I can find a good video editor app for my phone or laptop, I’ve *hopefully* got something exciting planned for when I reach another milestone! *fingers crossed*

Thank you all so much. SO MUCH. I can’t thank you enough!

And since so many of you are new here, I’ve done the Get To Know Me Tag below, just in case you want to find out a little bit more about me (though most of you know a lot about me already πŸ˜€ ) Even if you DO know me, this looked like a fun tag anyway and it’s quick to read through, so enjoy!

June Wrap Up

June wrap up

Did June even happen?

Apparently so.

It still hasn’t sunk in that here in England, it’s actually Summer now – not that the weather has done anything to help remind me. So all those books I’ve held off “until Summer when I have more time”…well, now’s the time.

Anyway, it’s the start of July, meaning a June Wrap-Up is needed. So here we are!

As always, this will be a long post so get comfy and enjoy!

I call this photo “The one in which I nearly give myself concussion trying to balance 9 books on my head”. Bit of a mouthful, but true.

Seriously, I ran downstairs and started jumping up and down practically screaming at my dad in incoherent nonsense.

So let’s talk about The Creeper Man!

Let’s Talk: What Makes You Rate A Book 5 Stars?

rating books 5 stars

Happy Wednesday, fellow readers!

Let me know what you’re doing today! (Because let’s face it, I’m nosey). I’ll be typing up this post, walking into town to collect a package from the post office (I wonder what it’ll be?) and do some reading later on. I’m HOPING to do a very long session of blog hopping too, because it’s been ages since I’ve caught up on other people’s blogs. I really need to start actively using Bloglovin’, so the blog hop will be there too.Β

Anyway, back to the first part of my day – this discussion post!

What makes you rate a book 5 stars?
