Top 5 Classics On My TBR | Because actually, I’m not as brain-dead when it comes to classics as I always think

top 5 classics

Not going to lie, I totally stole this idea off Aimee @ The Literary Wanderlust. Though I guess it doesn’t count as stealing, considering I asked her if I could do my own…

Anyway. Definitions of words aside.

Fun Fact: I’ve been getting into classics ever so gradually. “Ever so gradually” because quite frankly, I have this bizarre notion that I’ll never understand what the hell is going on. Which…probably stemmed from the fact that classics are, indeed, a hit or miss with me when it comes to understanding and enjoy…abilty? enjoyableness?

But like with 90% of the books on my bookshelves, I’ve heard so much about these books that I just HAVE to read them. One day. Eventually.

Here are the top 5 classics on my TBR!

Favourite books of 2016 | That awkward moment where I realise I’ve been reluctant with the 5 stars

favourite-books-2016

Hi guys! How are you all doing? I hope all of you that celebrate Christmas had a wonderful time these past few days ❀

Today’s post is coming to you a bit later in the day than usual. With the festivities and general busyness of the season, I didn’t have time to write and schedule the post beforehand like usual. And let’s face it, it’s taking me longer to get back into the swing of things after taking a break.

But today, I’m bringing you my favourite books of 2016. The ones I READ in 2016, not necessarily published in 2016. Now, when I came to look through my Goodreads challenge to choose my favourites out, I was originally planning on picking out 16 for 2016. BUT…then I realised that this year, I’ve actually been quite stingy with my 5 star ratings, and there’s not that many I wanted to mention. However, I did rate a fair few books a 4.5/5 stars, and some of those are really close to being all-time favourites (and are definitely favourites for this year) so I’ve included those too, and managed to get 10.

So let’s talk about my favourite books of 2016!

Unanswered Book Questions: Because no matter how much we read, we don’t always have answers

unanswered-bookish-questions

All the words we read, all the pages we flip through, all the books we collect and hoard. They bring a lot of questions, don’t they? And even though we read all these words, we don’t always find our answers in them.

So here we are at last, at the end of the Blogger Tips mini-series!

I’m so glad this mini-series has been helpful to you guys πŸ˜€ But wait – we have one more to get through yet!

Again, the disclaimer of all disclaimers – I am in NO way saying this is the right way to do blogging. I’m not saying I’m particularly great at blogging. I’m just sharing tips that have been helpful to me over my year of blogging so far.

So let’s get on with the very last round of blogger tips!

After that little break from the blogging tips last Sunday, here we are back again!

We’ve had personal tips. We’ve had writing tips. Well this time, I’m here to bring you a few design tips

Again, the disclaimer of all disclaimers – I am in NO way saying this is the right way to do blogging. I’m not saying I’m particularly great at blogging. I’m just sharing tips that have been helpful to me over my year of blogging so far.

So let’s get on with the design tips!

Now I do have to admit, design isn’t my strong suit. It took me months to get my blog the way it is, purely because I’m so incapable of understanding technology. But I figured I might as well share what I’ve discovered through my hours of Googling and experimenting. So here we go.

Sidenote: All of these tips are entirely optional, of course.

Remember the blogger tips from last week? Well, here’s round 2!

So for this week, I decided to make it about the actual writing of blogs. Because like everything when it comes to blogging, that stuff can be hard.

But never fear. I’ll be acting as your li’l fae friend today, frolicking around and sprinkling words of advice in an attempt to make your task that little bit easier.

So let’s get on with the “writing” tips!

Hi guys!Β

This week, I’m bringing you the start of something new *cue singing to High School Musical*

No, but really. So in recent days, I’ve had quite a few people asking me for blogging tips, or just for general help with their blogs, and when Christine @ WeeReader specifically asked me if I’d write a blog post about it, she gave me the inspiration to create a mini-series of blogging tips (thanks Christine!).

Now, I’ve done blogging tips before. In fact, I wrote this roundup of tips as a guest post on Emmi @ BookWithEms’ blog not too long ago. Now, those tips will be included in this mini-series too, but I’ve thought up a whole lot more since then, and figured it would only be right to share.

So far, I plan for this mini-series to be four posts, with sections on Personal tips (todays), Writing tips, Design tips, and Miscellaneous tips that don’t quite fit into the other categories.

By doing this series, I’m by no means claiming I’m a great blogger. Hell – I’ve been blogging for less than a year! I’m rubbish at technical skills…but I’ve learnt. And now I want to pass on some of the things I’ve learnt from my own experience, because you guys asked for it. And I listen.

So let’s get on with the “personal” tips!

The Top 10 books I absolutely NEED to read before the end of 2016 comes around

title.PNG

All year, I’ve had a list of books that I ABSOLUTELY NEED TO GET TO. You know the sorts. The ones with loads of hype AND actually sound amazing. The ones that have been sat on your shelves waiting for months. The ones that have been on every TBR possible and yet still haven’t been read.

WELL HERE’S ANOTHER TBR FOR THEM.

Because surely my knack for failing TBRs will leave me this time and actually let me read all the books listed…right?Β

Now, this list is just from the books I own. Not the books I intend to buy. If they were on the list too, you’d be reading this list until George RR Martin decides to publish his next book (come on MR Martin – we’re waiting!!).

So here are the top 10 books I absolutely need to read before the end of 2016!

Top 10 ways to reduce the pressure to read quickly

reduce pressure

Remember this week’s discussion post :Do you feel a pressure to read quickly?

Well, this is what I call a follow up post.

In that discussion, so so so many people admitted that there’s this pressure looming over them to read quickly, and I actually found that so sad. I mean, how did this happen? When did reading develop this pressure, when it’s just a hobby?

So I’ve decided to try and pull a few things together that might help bookworms like me reduce the pressure to read quickly.

These things are what I’d do myself, so these might not be much use, but I thought I’d mention them anyway to try and help.

So here are my top 10 ways to reduce pressure to read quickly!
